Ryan was originally trained as an editorial and book illustrator in Philadelphia where he soon began working at a package design firm where he was an in-house illustrator, graphic designer and product mock-up artist for licensed products such as Sponge Bob Square Pants, Dora the Explorer, Kim Possible and Bratz dolls. He quickly realized that supporting a children's product that stressed sex appeal wasn't for him, so he packed it all up and drove cross country to continue his artistic journey. For the past 10 years, Ryan has been an active part of the art community in San Francisco, holding such roles as illustrator, graphic designer, concept artist, fine art painter, muralist, package designer, street artist, musician / performer and adjunct instructor for the Academy of Art University.
When he was 20 years old and weighing a mere 145 pounds, Ryan was a club bouncer at the Jersey Shore...no seriously. He has stories for days.
