    • Evgeniya Golik (aka Evgola) is a pop surrealist based in San Diego, California.
Evgeniya was born in Russian-Ukrainian family in Vladivostok (USSR at that time). She graduated Art School at the age of 17, and having studied at the Far Eastern State Technical University, earned a Master's Degree in Design and Architecture. After Perestroika she got to be a part of international art project Pacific Rim Park in China, under initiative of American legendary artist James Hubbell & Ilan-Lael foundation. That eventually lead to her immigration to USA in 2005.
Presently, Evgola is a full-time fine artist, illustrator, muralist and educator.
Inspired by the European Renaissance, Orthodox iconography, Slavic folklore, Western esotericism, World’s fairytales and our modern pop culture, her art entwines a classic and contemporary sensibility.
She mainly works with acrylic, oil, pastel, pencil, metallic leaf on wood panel or paper.
Using a variety of media, Evgola’s art joins realistic portraiture with imaginative, often surreal narratives to highlight and reveal her subject's personalities and stories. She intends her paintings and drawings to be portals into a mystical realm, one which showcases a myriad of humans, animals and fantastical creatures, that seek to express their secret through esoteric language.
Not represented by any gallery exclusively, however, most of artist’s originals are exhibited at Distinction Gallery since 2017 where she has a wall.
Evgeniya have been working notably with museums: OMA, MOLAA, MCASD & NAM. Her artworks have been exhibited in various Galleries within USA and abroad, as well as being collected internationally. Several of her pieces have been published in Astrology (The Library of Esoterica) book by Taschen. Evgola recently illustrated a luxury 200 years anniversary limited edition of "Twas the Night before Christmas" for Chicago based publisher (to be released in 2025). Also, she has been commissioned by US Games Systems publisher to produce own Tarot deck, which she is currently working on.
