Aidamaris Román Tejera is a Puerto Rican painter and sculptor whose work explores emotional depth through vibrant color, glowing light, and dreamlike imagery. With a background in both fine art and doll-making, she merges delicate craftsmanship with bold visual narratives. Her oil paintings often feature ethereal figures immersed in surreal, neon-lit environments—part of her ongoing series Beings of Light . Drawing inspiration from music, poetry, and nostalgia, she uses traditional oil techniques to mimic the effects of digital glitch and illumination, creating a striking contrast between the organic and the artificial.
Over the past fifteen years, Román has also developed Forgotten Hearts, a renowned porcelain doll brand, adding a sculptural dimension to her practice. Her work has been featured in national and international exhibitions, including 33 Contemporary, Poetic Tiger, and Nanny Goat Gallery. She was recently published in Divide Magazine and Time and Memory book from Art to Hearts project .
Born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico, in 1978, she now works alongside her husband, painter Gamalier Bravo, from their studio. Her art speaks to those seeking beauty, vulnerability, and a touch of magic in a hyper-digital world.
