Matías Roig is an Argentine painter who discovered his main form of expression through painting at an early age. Although he began musical studies at the National Conservatory, he left that path to fully dedicate himself to the visual arts.
He trained with artists such as Milagro Torre Blanca and Ricardo Celma, with whom he also worked as an assistant. His career began by replicating museum masterpieces—an exercise that helped him develop his own visual language. He exhibited in Buenos Aires before relocating to Patagonia in 2012, seeking a life more connected to nature.
He currently lives and works in Villa La Angostura, Neuquén. His work reflects a process of self-discovery, nourished by silence, inner rhythms, the deep inspiration of nature, and the mysteries of the spiritual world.
