Winter Raven

Selene Mauri Cochrane is a Brisbane-based textile and mixed media artist whose practice draws on more than 30 years of experience as a costume designer and maker. Now working full-time as an artist, she fully embraces her expertise in pattern making, fabric dyeing, textile manipulation, and embellishment integrating these skills with her passion for ceramics. Her work is profoundly shaped by her lived experience with chronic pain caused by scoliosis and other health conditions. This ongoing struggle fuels her creative drive and informs an artistic practice that seeks to transform physical and emotional suffering into something meaningful and tangible .
