My work has long drawn from the tension and moody lighting of classic film noir, where
characters exist on the razor's edge of psychological drama. With The Remnant, painted for Glimmer, that classic noir atmosphere turns inward.
Here, the figure stands motionless against a sweeping urban backdrop, suspended in the cool, meditative glow of dusk. Beyond the sheer curtains, the city skyline flickers like a sea of quiet starlight — a subtle, external parallel to the flicker of calm reawakening inside her. The title speaks to what endures: that residual core of self-possession that stays steady amidst the chaos. Her inward turn is her glimmer — a private moment of recalibration where the nervous system exhales, finding serenity not by escaping the world, but by quietly mastering her place within it.
