Lance Hewison (b. 1982) is an emerging artist living in San Francisco. His work is featured in private collections internationally, and he has participated in a number of group shows domestically. In his work, Lance explores his fascination with masculine roles and relationships. Often, the men in his paintings are engaged in struggle, or isolated as objects of desire. His compositions feature single and multiple figures set against stark, abstracted environments. Some of these figures include mythological heroes, bruised and bloodied athletes, a deified lover, and slumbering young men.
