The colors drawn from birds, butterflies, and plants express the radiance and movement of small forms of life. A milky-white female figure embodies these living forms, quietly suggesting the presence of nature through her gaze and faint whisper.I work in the traditional Japanese painting technique of Nihonga, using pigments made from powdered shells and minerals, bound with natural animal-based glue. By allowing each material to retain its own color and texture, I seek to reveal the beauty inherent in the materials themselves. For me, this is also a way of honoring the interconnectedness of organic and inorganic life, reflecting a distinctly Japanese sensibility toward the natural world.
