Benjamin Moss is an imaginative realism airbrush painter based in Nevada City, CA.  His work emerges from a deeply personal journey through addiction, philosophical inquiry, and spiritual transformation.  Raised in a strict Catholic environment in North Dakota, his early worldview was shaped by fear-based religious doctrine, while a tragic childhood loss and a lifelong fascination with fantasy nurtured a deep connection to archetypal storytelling.  After leaving the Catholic church and relocating to California, he discovered psychedelics, electronic music, and festival culture, which reignited his spiritual curiosity and led him on years of esoteric studies and adventures around the globe.  Upon returning to California, a series of heartbreaking relationships spiraled him into a decade-long struggle with substance abuse.  Moss found profound healing through iboga, an experience that transformed his life and renewed his artistic purpose.  Now sober for over two years and with more than twenty years of painting experience, he creates luminous airbrushed works that explore transformation, empathy and the transmutation of suffering into growth.  Drawing upon the fantastical creatures of Celtic and Germanic folklore, visionary experience, and the timeless language of myth, Benjamin invites viewers into deeply emotional and transcendent inner worlds.
