Last Saturday, we opened the doors to Glenn Arthur's solo show, Succlusion. Inside, a diverse set of statuesque garden muses line the walls. They sit elegantly as if to have been cast from stone then brought to life by the succulent plants surrounding them (hence, the show's creative title!). As always, Glenn showcases his inclination toward gloriously stylized features and an art nouveau inspired graphic sensibility. Some of the paintings play on the use of a flat, repeat pattern in the background and a few are actually done in watercolor (as opposed to his usual medium of choice, acrylic). Thank you to those who joined us for the opening reception! The show will be up until June 10th and we welcome you to stop by anytime Wednesday through Saturday from 12 to 6pm.

Between Mask and Mirror: Alexandra Manukyan on Art and Identity

    October 15, 2025 4 min read

In this interview, Alexandra Manukyan reflects on the dualities that define her practice: the weight of human grief carried through the female body, the interplay between concealment and truth, and the evolving tension between timeless tradition and our rapidly shifting digital age. What emerges is a portrait of an artist who paints not just figures, but the human condition itself—layered, vulnerable, and endlessly resilient.

Since childhood my family inspired me to embark on various creative journeys such as music, poetry, and theater, which are hereditary to the creative approaches I use in my artwork today. From a young age I wrote and performed songs and poetry, as well as acted in a local theater with my whole family. When I came to the US to study art, I joined the school called Safehouse Atelier, which focused on traditional academic drawing and painting, as well as digital concept art.
