Trojan Horse

Shana Patry is a visual artist from Saguenay (QC) Canada. Supported by her family from a very young age, she took oil painting classes between the ages of 8 and 12. She graduated in 2016 from a college formation in Visual Arts at Cégep de Jonquière and has since devoted herself fully to her art. She is a soon to be graduate of the Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Visual Arts at Université du Québec at Chicoutimi (UQAC) and is a part time art teacher. 

Her hybrid approach in painting combines traditional techniques with new technologies such as digital collage and databending. She enjoys integrating visual distortions into her work, such as glitches, pixels, and elements drawn from the iconography of old computers. For her, it represents technology engulfing nature, like a parasite.
