- About Home : A group exhibition of reimagined birdhouses. Our participating artists received identical blank birdhouse to customize, paint, sculpt, etc., to create a work of unique expression. A home is generally a place that is close to the heart of the owner, and can become a prized possession. Places like homes can trigger self-reflection, thoughts about who someone is or used to be or who they might become.
- Joshua Coffy was born in 1976 in Tuscarawas, Ohio. He is a self taught artist who works primarily in acrylic paints. The artists fuses vibrant colors with mixed media to create a sense of depth and juxtaposition in his artworks. His subject matter deals almost exclusively with the animal kingdom, making statements about the connection between man and beast. He now lives and works in San Francisco.
"I paint a lot of birds. I have been interested in them since I was a little boy. My Grandmother loved them and loved teaching me about them. My interest in them only grew stronger as I got older. I am very passionate about nature and animals...I also like to explore how animals resemble us as other animals and as a society. I have many questions to ask and I never want to stop painting." - Shipping costs will be invoiced separately at the time of shipment for this piece.
