Original inspiration: Renoir - Jeanne Samary, 1877
"Jeanne Samary by Auguste Renoir depicts the portrait of a mysterious young lady gazing into your soul and leaving an enigmatic impression on the viewer.
Using my style, I searched to continue that legacy through the subject of family heirloom's heritage. The bracelet serves as a strong link between the two paintings further connecting them. The painting also conveys a whimsical and childlike universe. The subject's gaze is distant and dreamy, as if she were looking into an unknown future, and the light and delicate use of the brushstrokes suggest a sense of beauty and delicacy in the figure."
Virginie Mazureau offers a delightful, mischievous path down memory lane. Her deft, whimsical use of acrylic and vintage collage allows the viewer a reminiscence, at once serene and surreal. Virginie beckons you back to the magical illustrations of childhood books, imbuing impressions with her joyful fusion of color and light. "She reveals the dream quality of a time so personal we almost forgot its many colors" Ingrid Westlake. Follow her path...as Peter said, "second star to the right and straight on 'til morning"! J.M.
