Karen Remsen rediscovered painting in 2020 after not picking up a brush for nearly 15 years. Growing up, she had aspirations of becoming an artist, but during college decided to pursue a different path. She worked full-time in the tech industry for over ten years before rediscovering art. At the beginning of 2021, she decided to dedicate more time to painting and currently splits her time professionally between tech and art.
Karen’s work explores themes of strength, mystery, and beauty, often featuring women as the subject. She works primarily in oil and precious metal leaf.
Karen lives with her husband in Chicago.
