Warholian and Modern Eden Gallery have come together in to present “Tarot: Art of Fortune” a
modern day reinterpretation of the classic intuitive “fortune telling” card deck. The show
features some of the best emerging names in the gallery scene today as curated by Warholian’s
founder Michael Cuffe.
Although it’s roots may seem occult, Tarot was originally developed as a pack of playing cards in 15th century Europe to play French Tarot or Italian Tarocchini. Over time, individuals in the intuitive and early psychic communities began to adopt the cards as use as a tool to “read” an individual and offer spiritual guidance. Today Tarot has become more widely accepted as a way for individuals to find direction in the bustle of a modern world. With the availability of decks ranging from artistic to commercial, tarot has become a personalized standard of home libraries everywhere.
For “Tarot: Art of Fortune” we’ve asked some of the top contemporary artists to reimagine their favorite card from a standard deck, into a work of art based on the imagery and symbolism present. “Tarot: Art of Fortune” features an amazing array of established artists that have been individually selected as important figures in emerging art movements at this time.

Gregory Siff is truly a contemporary American artist. Creating images that blend Pop Art and Abstract-expressionism, Siff's work is vibrant and arresting, with an emotionalism normally absent in urban art. His distinct handmade style merges unique elements of abstraction, street, and fine art; his technique coalesces the voice of a fearless child with the wisdom of a seasoned warrior.
Originally from Brooklyn, New York, Gregory officially made Los Angeles home in 2009 where he has since established himself as 'one to watch' in the LA art scene. He has garnered a strong following among the Hollywood community as well as holding his own in the street art scene, He was commissioned to paint The Standard Hotel in Downtown LA and De La Barracuda Wall. In New York his work was featured in The Deitch Projects Art Parades, and he has shown his work in London, Dublin, Italy and Vancouver. Siff's work has also appeared in Andy Warhol's Interview Magazine, Paper Mag, The LA Times, The Miami Herald, Complex and Glamour.
His first solo show, G, at La Fonderie in Los Angeles was quickly followed by 'There & Back' at Siren Studios, Rooftop Sessions to much acclaim. Gallery Brown held ‘Matter of Time’, Gregory’s examination of fame idolatry, memory, determination, kingship and heart. He is the 2012 Los Angeles area winner of Red Bull Curates: The Road to Art Basel, where his work was featured in Scope Miami. Most recently Gregory was commissioned to paint the interior of the Ace Museum in LA for The Art of Elysium’s annual charity auction “Heaven.”
