Born in February of 1979, he grew up in a conservative, religious household with little to no influence in art. After shedding his roots he quickly realized that creating art would be his calling. Although he constantly doodled and sketched throughout his youth, Glenn did not come into painting until his late twenties when a friend forced a paintbrush into his hand and said, “You need to do this!”Since then Glenn has been diligently working on creating his own brand of beautifully painted images. Using several different types of media, he adds in elements and influential symbols of his past and present to each piece. Beyond the aesthetics of his artwork, Glenn brings an overwhelming sense of passion to his paintings. Touching on themes of love, death, conflict and duality, Glenn’s art tells stories of strength and hope through emotion and sentiment with his sensual beauties and signature hummingbirds.Glenn’s artwork has been shown in galleries and museums throughout the United States in solo as well as group shows. His work has also been published in several art books and magazines. The resulting digital art blurs the lines between traditional photography and classical painting so the viewer is unsure as to what is "real" and what we created either as sets & props or as digital painting.

Details

About

acrylic on wood panel

12 x 18 in.

© 2021

Michael Camarra was born and raised in Southern Connecticut before leaving to study at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, where he currently lives and works.

Through his work, Michael uses figures and a vibrant palette to explore his fascination with mythology and the unseen in the context of our connection to nature.

Details

About

oil on canvas

7 x 8 in.

© 2021

10 x 11 in. The elements in my paintings are based on real world objects; trees, flowers, animals, people, etc. What excites me as an artist is combining these real-world elements and presenting them in a surreal atmosphere in a way that makes the viewer stop and ponder, “what is going on here?” As a person I try not to take myself too seriously and this attitude flavors my work. My goal is to translate the beauty of nature and simplicity of subjects through the form, light and brush strokes harmoniously.

Details

About

acrylic on paper

8 x 10 in.

© 2021

framing included

Happy D. is an oil painter from the San Francisco Bay Area specializing in emotive female portraits with a psycedelic touch. Inspired by fairytales, classic animation, nature, and the woods surrounding her studio, her work is a result of many hours spent creating characters, sculpts, vinyl figures, and fantasy worlds. During my training at the California College of Arts and Crafts, I began to create collage drawings that layered disparate images on top of one another; I now use oil paint in a similar way, starting with an abstract background and then adding more photorealistic details, allowing the work to dictate its own construction. The resulting palimpsest of figures and abstract shapes represents the conflicted and paradoxical emotions that underlie my work. My paintings evoke the tensions between mind and body, self and other, present and past. They also raise questions about the nature of identity, particularly concerning issues of gender and sexuality. I am deeply concerned about the world around me, and my work reflects my reactions to social issues such as war and consumerism by contrasting images from American advertisements and popular culture with images of rituals from around the world.

Details

About

ink, watercolor, colored pencil on paper

12 x 9 in.

© 2021

framing included

Daria Theodora is an artist and illustrator working from her cave outside Boston.
