"I amLuis Tinoco, a Mexican American painter and graphic designer born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area and been active as a gallery artist since 2009. I produced my first solo show in April 2016, entitled “Beauty & The Streets” – A focus on empowered female subjects via emotive figurative portraits surrounded by graffiti heavy backgrounds to highlight the harmony of beautiful and tough women and stark urban environments. “Chingonas” was a body of work created as a postscript to “Beauty & The Streets”. A three person show, co-produced by me and featured in Remezcla.
“Flowers Do Grow In Hell” was my 2nd solo show, which showcased my interpretation on the motif and celebration of Dia De Los Muertos. Taking inspiration from Baroque era style using gold leaf and religious iconography, as well as modern street style to blend them together to create a moodier, darker but overall vibrant feel.Collections: Available Artwork, Available Paintings, Original Works Under $1000, The Portrait Show IX
