Often creating subverted portraits in his collage-like paintings, Dan Cimmermann surfs the wave between fine and street art, re-mixing a wide range of influences including J M W Turner, George Condo, Sir Thomas Lawrence and Picasso.
His paintings pickup fragmental themes of old and new from forgotten ageing pubs, Britain seen from abroad, Brits abroad, hen/stag nights, English gents and hooligans, the North of England clashing with childhood memories, boarding schools, class divide, Brexit & social behaviour.
