    • Multi-award winning fine artist and illustrator FLuX (John Malloy) combines classical realism, street art style, and illustrative technique to create thought-provoking and dazzling works. Using his training in trompe l’oeil, FLuX creates masterpieces in oil that feel hyper-realistic and almost 3 dimensional in person. His works vibrate with energy and either take the viewer into imaginative worlds or unabashedly celebrate the beating pulse that exists in everyday life. His digital paintings blend 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional spaces even further, and his digital illustrations utilize a cartoonish sensibility to create a hyper-realistic world all their own.

Born in rural Pennsylvania, FLuX began drawing at a young age, and later earned a background in old masters painting studying trompe l'oeil realism. Since he has been self-taught in fine art, illustration & design. He is presently working on an autobiographical graphic novel titled “Queasy: A Memoir”, an excerpt of which appears in Image Comics’ Popgun Anthology. He has concepted and illustrated comic-styled interviews with musicians including Billy Corgan and The Battles for Lemon Magazine. His first graphic novel, “Amnesia” [2001] combined pen & ink, painted, and digital media.

His commercial clients include Apple, Peace Tea, Focus Features, Monster Energy, Diesel, Sharpie, Prismacolor, The Grammy-nominated Internet Band, and more. His fine art has been exhibited in galleries across the US and in Japan, London, China, and Australia. Awards include Creativity International Platinum, Silver & Bronze Awards, Communication Arts, Beautiful Bizarre Art Prize, Society of Illustrators, Addy, and others.
