He is influenced by his roots, growing up in Southern California during the 80’s & 90’s, where his pluck choices of hues dominate his artwork. Martin’s portraits are loosely haloed by floral and fauna; these haloes embody his Native American (Mexican/Yaqui) roots, taking the place of warbonnets which are attributed to males and masculinity during Native American rituals. The ring of botanical designs also reference Martin’s Russian heritage, through a reinterpretation of kokoshniks, which are solely attributed to the feminine. Her work is typically created using a stippling technique in pen & ink and graphite, with occasional splashes of color. Juliet’s pieces are inspired by the ocean, nature, and all of the creatures within our world. Since the time she was a child, Juliet has been fascinated by black and white photography, colorless television shows, and film noir movies. Being exposed to the lighting effects and sharp contrasts shown in these photographs and films greatly inspired the type of work that she does today. Juliet’s work is centered around giving a voice to nature and animals, with the goal of showcasing their importance in this world. Born in February of 1979, he grew up in a conservative, religious household with little to no influence in art. After shedding his roots he quickly realized that creating art would be his calling. Although he constantly doodled and sketched throughout his youth, Glenn did not come into painting until his late twenties when a friend forced a paintbrush into his hand and said, “You need to do this!”Since then Glenn has been diligently working on creating his own brand of beautifully painted images. Using several different types of media, he adds in elements and influential symbols of his past and present to each piece. Beyond the aesthetics of his artwork, Glenn brings an overwhelming sense of passion to his paintings. Touching on themes of love, death, conflict and duality, Glenn’s art tells stories of strength and hope through emotion and sentiment with his sensual beauties and signature hummingbirds.Glenn’s artwork has been shown in galleries and museums throughout the United States in solo as well as group shows. His work has also been published in several art books and magazines. Glenn is sponsored by Trekell Art Supplies.

Details

About

oil on panel

20 x 16 in.

© 2021

24 x 20 in. She uses modified egg tempera techniques of the 14th century Old Masters to create works of magical realism that seem to glow from within. Celebrating the hard-earned wisdom of childhood, Sullivan-Beeman depicts subjects who are often young, hauntingly innocent, and teetering on the edge of naïveté and what lies beyond. The narratives, symbology, and illumination in her pieces emerge from someplace subliminal, a conjured realm of magic, mysticism, and mystery. She uses her personal dream journal to inspire her artwork, exploring Jung’s collective unconscious with an overt curiosity for the bizarre and the esoteric, especially alchemy, the tarot, and animal spirits.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0058/3532/products/DeirdreSullivanBeeman_TheHiveAndTheHoney_2021.jpg?v=1633114534
promissum
Prōmissum

One off digital painting on cotton rag stock, hand embellished, mounted on board, varnished, framed and carries the Dark Kingdom seal on the reverse.

14 x 11 in.

© 2020

16.5 x 19.5 in. He currently lives and works in New York. His work, inspired by fables, fairy tales and nostalgic allusions to the places and situations of his childhood, has always been focused on the evocation of dreamlike landscapes and psychologically complex characters often caught in the gloomy atmosphere of dramatic, apocalyptic scenarios. From the first works of the series God is Dead, The Hours and Murder of us, characterized by a more essential compositional structure and imbued by manifold references to the religious symbolism of Medieval Art, to the exquisitely intricate narrative of his other works, David’s artistic production, broadly influenced by the Renaissance Art, has recently evolved towards a more sophisticated synthesis of both content and form. David’s characters and their interactions with their own microcosm can instrumental to understand his creative process and his ability to turn certain memories and anxieties into well-rendered depictions of his interpretation of reality, whereas his palette is and remains an extension of his emotional and intellectual response to the world. David’s work can be found in many private collections, and has been featured in numerous group and solo exhibitions, including: “Subterfuge”, Think Space Gallery, Santa Monica, CA, 2006; “Art From the New World”, Bristol City Museum and Art Gallery, Bristol, England, 2010; “Pop Surrealism, What a Wonderfool World”, Carandente Museum of Spoleto, Italy, 2010; “Walking with These Shadows”, Corey Helford Gallery, Los Angeles, 2011; “The Kindly Ones”, Last Rites Gallery, New York, 2015. His work has also been featured on: “Rolling Stone Magazine”, “Juxtapoze Magazine”, “NY Arts Magazine”, LA Times Newspaper” and MTV.

Details

About

acrylic on wood panel

16 x 20 in.

© 2021

Having grown up in Tokyo, Junko Mizuno is a self-taught artist recognized for her unique visual iconography of powerful and often sexy women.
Although her art refuses to be categorized, much of it is based on Japanese pop culture from '70s and '80s with the sources of her inspiration stemming from fetish art, folk art, religious art, psychedelic art, pin-up art, advertising art, vintage toys, fashion, comic, food, nature, movies, TV shows, video games… almost everything that surrounds her. In his book, The Varieties of Religious Experience, William James wrote: “One may say, truly, I think, that personal religious experience has its root and center in mystical states of consciousness.” Our relationship with the natural world is complicated and often troubled. Our collective Western attitude towards nature has been one of conquest rather than cooperation. And we have become more and more removed from our natural origins as a result. This alienation from nature is deeply rooted in the Judeo-Christian view that divinity and nature are separate. Nature is wild and subordinate to humanity and must be tamed. And to not tame our own nature, to allow it to run unbridled, is utterly sinful in the eyes of God.

I’m curious about death and what lies beyond the veil of life. I’m interested in crossing that bridge by exploring our connection to the mysterious hidden kingdom of fungi. As decomposers of dead, organic matter, mushrooms are symbols of the imminent life and death process. They release enzymes to break down and feed on dead matter. It is fascinating that an organism that makes room for new growth by clearing away dead matter from the forest floor is also an entheogen that, through transcendent states of consciousness, clears our own cluttered spiritual pathways. Just as Alice ate from the mushroom and grew smaller in Alice in Wonderland, so does the human ego under the influence of psilocybin mushrooms. Mushrooms are nature's teachers. They teach humility and show us how we are all connected. There is divinity in nature. All life is interwoven and truly what we do to nature we do to ourselves."

Details

About

acrylic on wood panel

16 x 20 in.

© 2021

19 x 23 in.
