Steampunk Cufflinks Soldered Antique Railroad Uniform Buttons Wabash Railways Antique Silver Steel Cuff Links handmade by Compass Rose Design

Handmade Steampunk cufflinks made from shiny steel antique uniform buttons - a slice of history to wear. This pair is from the Wabash Railway line originally founded in 1865. These buttons date from between 1880 and 1940. Like most quality historic buttons, these are made by the Waterbury Button Company in Connecticut. The company has been making buttons since 1812, crafting high quality brass buttons for railroad men, firemen, soldiers, and steam ship workers. As they say in their company history "When Gen. Ulysses S. Grant met Gen. Robert E. Lee at Appomattox Courthouse, both men wore Waterbury buttons on their chests."

These are sturdy SILVER SOLDERED cufflinks - NOT glued like most of the others watch cufflnks you will see - I use a two step silver soldering method to preserve the quality and integrity of the watch without applying direct flame like the torch soldering, so there is less burnt metal for a cleaner solder. Guaranteed to last.

The buttons measure 15/16" (just under 1 inch)
