Henry Schreiber: Here, Hold This

Modern Eden Gallery presents ‘Here, Hold This’, a featured exhibition of new marmot paintings by Henry Schreiber on our project wall. In this new series, Schreiber pursues his comical and personified characters in the classical portraiture style.

Exhibition Statement from the Artist: "’Here, Hold This’ explores the circumstance of holding unexpected things. In this series, I portray groundhogs responding with complex emotions. Seriously complex emotions."

Born in Fairfax Virginia, Henry Schreiber spent his childhood in the suburbs of Washington DC, the mountains of West Virginia, and the gulf coast of Florida. After receiving his MFA from the University of Central Florida, Schreiber established a studio on a family farm in the Appalachian Mountains. Following his two years of learning the ways of the groundhog; he packed up his studio and moved to Charlotte, NC.

The opening reception for ‘Here, Hold This’ will be held at Modern Eden Gallery on Saturday, August 15, 2015 from 6 pm–9 pm. Henry Schreiber  will be in attendance at the reception. The exhibition will be on display through September 5, 2015 and is free and open to the public.
